Bristol Energy were looking for a partner to help them create their Hub, a walk in centre on the busy waterfront in Bristol, for customers to come in and talk about their energy requirements face to face. A concept that has not been seen in the energy business for many years.

With their brand mission being a Force for Social Good, a friendly, welcoming atmosphere was created, using the flare of their brand within the circular dividing wall, and the hot pink creating features whilst adding warmth. Sustainable materials were sourced, including cork to the front of their reception desk, carpets with 100% recycled yarn, and wool felt upholstery on the bespoke built in seating and feature curved sofa.

The proposal that was put together demonstrated how well they had listened and interpreted the brief. OEG conveyed a deeper understanding of Bristol Energy as a company and our values by selecting materials and suppliers to fit with our core values. All of our key functional requirements were allowed for without compromising on design. The presentation that was put together for the proposal clearly illustrated what the quote included along with carpet samples and examples of the furniture, making it a lot easier to understand what the quote was covering.

The design of the office space and the different identities of the two sides of the space really added to the vibrancy of the site. The design team were able to incorporate the functional elements (acoustic panels/ sound absorption/ reverberation dampening) into an inspiring design. We now have an office which is secure, light, brilliant acoustics, spacious, and even has an attractive waiting area for visitors. The public facing area has all of the functional elements for us to be able to engage with customers with a striking front desk and built in seating, whilst still allowing the space to be incredibly versatile.


I have never been on such a calm construction site as when OEG were in control of the site for the re-fit. They were working to an incredibly challenging deadline but the site was always organised and the contractors were always friendly and helpful. We had fantastic communication which made the whole process as painless as possible and the transformation of the site from one week to the next was brilliant. OEG were great at understanding how busy we were as a company whilst still indicating which key elements have a long lead time and therefore need to be prioritised for sign off.

I enjoyed working with OEG and the finished re-fit was even better than I could have possibly imagined. I would most certainly recommend them and will definitely be working with them again on future projects.”
